Kling 4.0 vs Seedance 2.5

Both make videos up to 30 seconds with sound. Kling 4.0 costs about half as much per second at 720p and adds keyframes; Seedance 2.5 takes more reference files (30 images against 10) and followed camera directions more closely in our tests.

Below, the same three prompts run on both models, so you can see how each one reads a prompt.

How do Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5 compare on the same prompt?

Seedance 2.5 followed camera directions and the shallow depth of field more closely. Kling 4.0 gave brighter, cleaner shots that show more of the scene, and its camera moves were easier to see.

Text to Video, 5 seconds, 720p, 16:9, with sound. Each prompt ran once on each model, and the videos are shown as generated, with no editing. The Seedance 2.5 videos are the same ones as in Seedance 2.5 vs 2.0. Turn the sound on to compare the audio.

Fast action

Tests: Big motion, physics and a tracking camera.

Kling 4.065 credits
Seedance 2.5120 credits

Both landed the trick in one continuous shot. Kling 4.0 frames the whole rider: he drops in from the top of a ramp, rolls across the park, ollies off a ledge and rides away, with the camera following from a distance instead of low to the ground, and a drop rather than a gap. Seedance 2.5 follows the camera direction more closely, with the lens at board height through the crouch, the pop, the board in the air and the landing.

Prompt used for both
A skateboarder in a red hoodie rolls down an empty concrete ramp at sunset, pops an ollie over a gap and lands cleanly. The camera tracks alongside low to the ground, then rises as he lands. Long shadows, golden light, the sound of wheels on concrete and a clack on landing. Realistic motion.

Talking to camera

Tests: Face, lip sync and the spoken line.

Kling 4.065 credits
Seedance 2.5120 credits

Both kept the curly hair, the green shirt and the kitchen, and she talks through the whole clip. Kling 4.0 gives a bright, clean picture with even daylight and a white kitchen, but the camera hardly moves, so it reads as a locked-off shot rather than handheld. Seedance 2.5 has low warm sun through the window and a slight handheld sway. Turn the sound on to compare the voices.

Prompt used for both
Medium close-up of a woman in her thirties with short curly hair and a green linen shirt, standing in a bright home kitchen. She looks into the camera, smiles and says: "I tried this for a week, and honestly, I'm not going back." Natural handheld camera, warm daylight, realistic skin texture, clear voice with light room tone.

Product shot

Tests: Lighting, depth of field, steam and a slow camera move.

Kling 4.065 credits
Seedance 2.5120 credits

Kling 4.0 makes the sideways glide from the counter to the windows easy to see, with steam rising the whole time, but keeps the people behind the mug fairly sharp instead of the shallow depth of field the prompt asked for, and a green lens flare crosses the mug for about a second. Seedance 2.5 has the softer, more cinematic look: a strongly blurred room, warm bokeh lights and a long shadow, with a gentler camera move. Neither drew the gold rim.

Prompt used for both
A matte black ceramic coffee mug with a thin gold rim sits in the middle of a wide light oak table in a busy café in the morning. Medium-wide shot at table height: the table fills the foreground and the mug sits in the lower center of the frame. Low morning sun shines in from large windows behind the mug, backlighting it and casting a long soft shadow across the wood grain toward the camera. Behind, out of focus, customers chat at other tables, warm round bokeh lights glow above the counter, and green plants sit by the windows. Steam curls up from the coffee. The camera glides slowly sideways, so the blurred background drifts from the counter to the bright windows. Shallow depth of field, warm golden light, cinematic. Café ambience: soft chatter and the clink of cups. No text.
